When it comes to Scotland Football Clubs, these are actually governed by their own association. The Scottish Football Association is now the second oldest of all the football associations in the world as was formed back in 1873.

When it comes to football in Scotland, it is made up of several different leagues the top one being the Scottish Premier League and below this are the other three football league divisions. The premier league consists of only 12 teams and was brought into existence in 1998 and the two main teams in this are Celtic FC and Rangers FC.
Because there is so much rivalry between these two teams, they have actually won more awards then any other football team in Europe. Even teams like Real Madrid in Spain and AC Milan in Italy are finding it difficult to keep up with the number of league wins that these two teams have accumulated.
Although the team that wins the title spot in the Scottish First Division League is entitled to be promoted to the Scottish Premier League this has not always occurred. Unfortunately, for some teams they have found that they not been able to because the football stadium in which they play does not meet certain requirements. Today all teams that play in the Scottish Premier League must have room available for 6,000 people to be seated whilst watching a match, plus they must also have under soil heating as well.
